Mapuche Political Prisoners of Temuco Begin Hunger Strike in Support of Héctor Llaitul

Posted on 2024/08/17 by nospiritualsurrender

PPM-CAM TEMUCO COMMUNIQUÉ

To the communities in resistance and public opinion in general, from our political imprisonment, in the Temuco prison, and through this communiqué we come to declare the following:

Kiñe: As political prisoners of the CAM, undersigned, we have taken the individual self-determination to initiate and accompany the current hunger strike that is being carried out by the werken Héctor LLaitul to demand his immediate transfer to this module of community members in the Temuco Prison, in his capacity as a historical leader of the Mapuche autonomist movement and who contributed from its beginnings in the struggle for Mapuche national liberation.

On Tuesday, August 6, he was transferred to a module for common prisoners.

Let us remember that the peñi was convicted through a spurious trial, through the Law of Internal Security of the State, a law of a political nature, censorship and persecution. As well as the use of witnesses without identity.

Epu: That we demand the immediate release of the peñi José Luis Marilao, whose comrades in the cause have already been acquitted, after two years of preventive detention. And that, even so, today, the Los Ángeles Court of Guarantee echoed, unilaterally, only the arguments of the Prosecutor’s Office and the Government. Leaving our peñi in preventive detention until a third trial is held for the same cause. This demonstrates the lack of independence of the Judiciary.
In the same way we demand the freedom of Daniel Canio Tralcal, who is in the legal deadlines to start putting forward his release.

Kila: We also denounce the maintenance of remote hearings and demand the presence of these in person, advocating for the right to be able to defend ourselves and to have contact and dialogue with our lawyer.

Meli. Along with the above, we send our condolences to the Jones Huala family for the departure of their son and brother Fausto Yem. At the same time, we sent our newen and accompaniment to the peñi Facundo Jones Huala on hunger strike.

Temuco, August 8, 2024.

Concepción, August 07, 2024.- Call for the immediate transfer of Héctor Llaitul to Temuco. Today, family members, communities, leaders, sympathizers and students from different territories met to demand the immediate transfer of werken Héctor Llaitul Carrillanca to the community module of the Temuco prison. They also denounce the violations in the process: adequate medical care, worse prison conditions than those already present in module 89 where he was serving preventive detention, where not only is his current health at risk – with more than 60 days on hunger strike – but also his spiritual health. Respect for international agreements is required, even more so for Convention 169, since a Mapuche can be deprived of liberty, but never of his condition of being Mapuche.

Statement from 2 Comrades on trial in Berlin

Posted on 2024/08/17 by nospiritualsurrender

„We were arrested 17 months ago. We sat isolated from each other for a day and a half in the detention center on Tempelhofer Damm (Berlin) and were brought before a custodial judge. We then had to report to a cop station around 85 times and scribble our signatures on a piece of paper to prove that we had not yet evaded trial. Our DNA was taken and run through databases. For a total of 15 days, we were being surveilled by the secret police in our daily lives, with our friends and comrades, and had our home entrances filmed. For a few days now, we sat in front of this court where our guilt is being tried.

We didn’t say anything then and we won’t say anything now about why we were in the place where we were arrested. This blank space only underlines what became clear in court during those few days: That the police and judiciary are in the dark. Our DNA in the databases has revealed nothing for you. Your surveillance has apparently led to no relevant results. There is nothing left but a sensational story to satisfy the states‘ need for persecution and being able to present the necessary „successes“.

The political order does not require moral integrity, but compliance with the law.

The lack of motivation, with which the investigation and the main trial were conducted by the investigating authority, whether out of incompetence or arrogance, and also the humorous insights into the criminalistic skills of some federal police officers, could almost hide the fact that we are sitting here before an instance of class-judiciary.
When we talk about class-judiciary, we think that we are still sitting here in a rather privileged position. At the same time, however, we do not forget whose rights are being enforced here.

We don’t forget the countless tenants who are sentenced to homelessness by German courts. Not the thousands in German prisons whose only crime is their poverty or their origin.

We have not forgotten that every uniformed perpetrator and even the last NSU supporter can leave the courtroom laughing, while the de facto abolition of the right to asylum perpetuates colonial continuities and those affected by sexualized and racist violence can only expect new violence in German courts.

We will not forget how German laws and officials are enabling the most massive militarization of the Federal Republic of Germany since reunification in this so-called „Zeitenwende“(turning point), and how German arms companies are continuously profiting from genocide and war all over the world.

And let us never forget that it was people in judicial uniforms who, just a few meters from here, let Ferhat Mayouf burn to death in a prison cell.

This trial is just one of many attempts these days to persecute anarchist and anti-fascist individuals and structures and force them to surrender to state pressure, occupation through repression and the threat of harsh punishment. The so-called democratic center of society tries to remove the disruptive elements that expose their (value) system as oppressive and unfree. Not for justice but to keep their conscience clear.
However, we can see everywhere in Europe just how far this middle class is from openly sympathizing with the rise of fascism.
The fact that our responses to this cannot be based on bourgeois legislation has been proven historically and, accordingly, no further words will be lost in this building.

Instead, we want to end with a few words of affinity:

Not a moment of this trial did we have to endure alone. For us, this solidarity is an expression of the power and beauty of revolutionary ideas. The support we have received here in this court and which has also accompanied and sustained us outside of it for a year and a half is unfortunately not always a given.

In particular, we would like to thank those who welcomed us outside the detention center after our arrest, those who have continuously backed us over these past months and those unknown near and far, whose greetings have always filled our hearts with joy.
Last but not least, we would like to thank our lawyers, whose support and commitment we have always been able to rely on.

Whatever judgment is ultimately passed on us here: We are certain that the need for a world of dignity, freedom, self-determination and justice cannot be negotiated in a courtroom.
And we will leave this courtroom with the certainty that neither the state security, the prosecutors nor this court have any idea what we really think, want or do. And that remains, despite all the adversities, a very satisfying feeling.“

Freedom for all prisoners!

Freedom & happiness to the comrades on the run!

We are conspiring!

Call for International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners

Posted on 2024/07/21 by nospiritualsurrender

Military drones buzz among the stars and clouds. A soldier thousands of kilometers away searches for targets to kill, emotions distant from the lives they are taking. A growing numbness to the present brutality and states propaganda that summons itself across our screens. The water and the land are objects to be further preyed upon. Like the cavernous pit of the coal mine we are being emptied and hollowed out in order to sustain capital’s culture of emptiness. Empathy, care and love which keeps our communities together are under attack for an individualized life under capitalism where everyone looks out for themselves.

What has changed from the last year to the moment we lay eyes on this text?

Increased surveillance, tightening of repression and criminalization of encrypted communications, the flames of war and genocide, the earth’s continual desecration. The world watches with a mixture of horror and apathy as the death toll climbs in Gaza and the invasion of Ukraine reaches its 3rd year. Roughly 10,000 Palestinian prisoners are strapped to beds, tortured and beaten to death- held hostage in brutal conditions in Israeli prisons. In Sudan, tens of thousands of people have been killed and millions are displaced while facing extreme famine as the civil war reaches it’s 16th month. The actually successful militant resistance to the military coup in Myanmar is being transformed by the military into a civil war with rising civilian casualties as the regime’s troops increasingly resort to scorched earth tactics.

Those of us living under the fragility of neoliberal ‘peace’ are expected to take political positions devoid of human feeling or meaningful action. How to break this artificial veil constructed to make ‘war zones’ appear a world away, when the weapon shipments, and the webs of diaspora, tell a different story? How to seize back our humanity and our agency, understanding the urgency while giving space to feel, grieve, and act, standing hand in hand against this monstrosity? And how to maintain this fabric of resistance that defies news cycles and nation state politics, recognizing the fights for survival and liberation against ongoing colonization and resource extraction, that are materializing globally outside of news spotlights?

What is to be done? With constant return we fumble with these questions. Empathy and solidarity is the strongest medicine against the current realities we face. Empathy and solidarity is why we are here- our hearts embracing these words. We choose to share the weight of grief and take steps toward action in this fabric of resistance that has been woven through time on this earth. Is it not our yearning towards the forces of care, creation and destruction that we gather around our fires? Is it not because we wish to understand and greet each others pain and seek freedom from oppression that we show solidarity with our comrades who are carrying the heavy weights of repression?

There are too many atrocities, too many beautiful spirits taken from this world to grieve them all. Among the bloodshed live the spirits of those who choose to resist against this hegemonic order, against the grinding wheels of genocide and colonialism. There are those who, throughout the turning of this earth, choose not to ignore the forces that prey upon free life. Many have chosen to greet these forces with fists clenched, a grin from cheek to cheek. I’m sure you share this too, maybe not smiling, but we are here again. With time, with strength and patience we deepen our constellations, we strengthen and weave new webs, alongside the earths cycles we change, grow, and learn.

With strength we make this call to action for a week of solidarity with anarchist prisoners. Let our words not die in our mouths but our ideas and actions be realized.
Organize solidarity events, film screenings, banner drops, discussion rounds, direct actions, radio shows, letter writings … be  creative!

Let’s remember those who fought against this injustice and paid with their lives.
Let our comrades in prison not be forgotten and let’s show the warmth of solidarity!

No one is free, till all are free!

Please send us your events and actions to tillallarefree@riseup.net.
